Because denture creams containing the mineral zinc were recently linked to several serious side effects, many denture wearers may wish to switch to a brand of denture cream without zinc. Unfortunately, some denture creams containing zinc do not list zinc as an ingredient on the denture cream label, so finding a brand of denture cream with no zinc may be difficult.
In an effort to assist consumers in finding a denture cream brand that is zinc free, our denture cream lawyers have attempted to identify denture creams that, according to information from the manufacturers, do not contain zinc (we have not independently tested the products and you should consult with your physician and/or dentist when determining an appropriate product for you):
- Secure Denture Bonding Cream
- Secure Denture Adhesive Cushion Strips
- Sea-Bond Denture Adhesive Wafers
- Effergrip

Our denture cream lawsuit investigation is based on, among other things, a denture cream study published in the August 2008 issue of the journal Neurology. The study, which was conducted by researchers at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, reported on four denture wearers suffering from neuropathy and other neurological symptoms typical of zinc poisoning and copper depletion. It concluded that zinc contained in denture creams could have been responsible for their symptoms.
Because many denture cream manufacturers do not list potential side effects on the denture cream labels, many of the more than 35 million Americans who wear dentures are unaware of the link between denture adhesive creams and serious denture cream side effects. Consequently, several lawsuits have emerged alleging that denture cream manufacturers should be held accountable for failing to warn consumers of the risk of serious side effects with their products.
