Pain Pump Cartilage Loss
A 2007 study linked shoulder surgery pain pumps to a specific type of cartilage loss called Postarthroscopic Glenohumeral Chondrolysis, or PAGCL. This painful condition is caused by the deterioration of hyaline cartilage around the shoulder area.
