According to the consumer advocacy group, Public Citizen, Botox injections have been linked to 180 cases of U.S. patients suffering fluid in the lungs, difficulty swallowing or pneumonia, including 16 deaths. In January 2008, Public Citizen petitioned the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (“FDA�) to strengthen warnings on Botox labels because of series adverse reactions and the risk of Botox infection.
