Khara Kessler received her bachelor’s degree in 2001 from the University of Miami (B.S., Business Law), graduating cum laude, and received her J.D. in 2005 from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, graduating cum laude. During law school, Ms. Kessler was a member of the Association of Law & Business, Criminal Law Association, and the Entertainment Arts & Sports Law Society.
Ms. Kessler has worked on several securities fraud class actions against numerous issuers of securities for allegedly misleading investors, including: In re Marsh & McLennan Cos., Inc. Securities Litigation, No. 04-CV-8144 (CM) (S.D.N.Y.) ($400 million recovery); and In re Royal Dutch/Shell Transport Securities Litigation, No. 04-374 (JAP) (D.N.J.) (U.S. settlement with a minimum cash value of $138.3 million and a contingent value of more than $180 million, in addition to a related European settlement of $350 million that the Firm was substantially responsible for obtaining).
Ms. Kessler is active in the Firm’s mass tort practice and works on a wide array of pharmaceutical and consumer injury cases. She is currently investigating cases concerning Accutane, Avandia, DePuy ASR Hip Replacement System, Fosamax, Levaquin, Pain Pump, and Yasmin/Yaz.
Ms. Kessler is also active in the Firm’s consumer protection practice, representing tenants in a class action challenging their landlords’ right to deregulate rent stabilized apartments while simultaneously receiving certain New York City tax benefits.
Ms. Kessler is admitted to the Bars of the States of New York and Florida. She is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
